Cory gave me my wedding present a little early…
A new camera!!! It’s a Canon EOS Digital Rebel T1l and I clearly need to learn how to use it. He gave it to me early in hopes that I would learn to use it before our wedding/vacation/honeymoon begins. Well, today is the first day I’ve actually shot any pics with it! I’ve been so busy with last minute wedding preparations that I have not had time to brush up on my photography skills with my new/amazing camera. My plan is to read the instruction manual on the plane to learn everything.
Examples of things keeping me busy- making place cards, making wedding programs/fans, organizing a group Rain Forest Zip Line Tour, confirming and reconfirming our group’s travel arrangements, emailing the wedding planners several times a day, etc.
We leave for St. Lucia in 6 days!!! However, my last day of work is tomorrow; then I will be off for 17 glorious days! Our wedding will not only be the beginning of our marriage but also a vacation.
My vacation philosophy is similar to the way I celebrate at holidays and parties—balanced! It’s very easy to go to extremes while on vacation. I know some people who decide to completely abandon their healthy eating and exercise habits and over-indulge every chance they get during a trip. On the other side of the spectrum, some decide to completely avoid any “unhealthy” foods and drinks while setting their alarm every single morning during the vacation to hit the hotel’s gym. My goal is to be in the middle of that spectrum. If St. Lucia has a signature “unhealthy” dish, you better believe I’ll be trying it. And, I certainly plan on having a few fruity, alcoholic beverages with an umbrella on the rim of the cup! But, I also plan to eat a ton of fruits and vegetables just like I do at home. And, I plan on getting in lots of exercise at the pool and beach; I’m not the kind of girl who likes to lay out all day. I enjoy swimming and splashing in the waves! Plus, our resort offers a ton of activities that I plan to participate in including waterskiing, windsurfing, sunfish sailing, snorkeling, and kayaking! What’s your vacation philosophy?
Unlike my typical vacations, I’m bringing some wedding worries. What’s to worry about on a tropical island??? For starters, I hope the airline doesn’t give me any trouble for having a bridal gown as a carry-on. I’m also praying that it doesn’t rain on our wedding day. After almost a year of planning, I want what any bride wants- for every planned detail to somehow fall into place!
Hope everyone is having a great week! Thanks for reading
Kasey
