The Reason for the Season

Posted on December 26th, 2009, by Kasey

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  I certainly did.  My favorite part of the holidays is spending time with my amazing family and watching children open presents.  Here are some of my Christmas highlights…

My mother with my sister’s boys… they love their Firemen PJs

I love Talan’s face in this one!

Cory and I gave the boys MP3 players filled with their favorite music (Mickey Mouse, SpongeBob, etc).  My godson, TJ, came up to me after opening his gift and said “Nanny, I really love my present so much!” and gave me a huge hug and kiss!

Cory was so surprised to get a fishing rod (among other things) from my mom!

I knew my fruit tray was once again a success when several people came up to me to ask what “those red things in the middle were”?!

The children were adorable when they changed into their Christmas pajamas!

As for the gifts, I got some great things!  Cory really tricked me.  Remember that HUGE Christmas bag for me from Cory I was telling yall about?  Well, he actually put a bunch of small gift bags inside the big one and filled the rest of the space with newspaper to throw me off!  What was inside the big bag?

DSC04686 A nice bottle of olive oil and wine… I actually gave this as a gift to my aunt and paran and was commenting on how much I wanted it for myself!

My favorite perfume that I have been out of for months!

I have been wanting Scrabble for ages!  This “vintage game collection” actually looks like a book from the side.

In addition to food books/blogs, I am quite addicted to fashion books and fashion blogs!  I have been wanting this book for a couple years now.

I was very proud that Cory stayed close to budget.  Before we started Christmas shopping, I set a $100 limit for each of us to spend… I think he went a little over.

Cory is planning on running a half marathon so I gave him some new tennis shoes and a heart rate monitor!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.  Thanks for reading  :)

What are some highlights from your holidays?

Did you receive any “healthy” holiday gifts?
