Shrimp White Wine Pasta

Happy Friday!!! It’s been a typical New Orlean’s winter so far… scarf worthy weather one day and flip flop appropriate weather the next.  Cory and I have no plans for the weekend and I’m looking forward to taking it easy; although, I must finish my holiday shopping.

The other night, I made my shrimp white wine pasta.  I developed this recipe on a whim a few months ago.  Basically, I just threw some things together without measuring anything and it turned out fabulous!  The second time I made it, it was good but it wasn’t fabulous.  I decided I needed to measure out the ingredients so that it can be consistently fabulous.

Ingredients

2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

1 teaspoon Paprika

1/2 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes

1/2 Tablespoon Garlic, minced

~1 pound raw Shrimp

1/4 cup White Wine

1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice

Salt and Pepper to taste

Whole Wheat Pasta

Directions

-Cook whole wheat pasta according to package.

-Heat olive oil in pan (I used my Wok).  Add garlic and cook ~1-2 minutes. Add shrimp and cook for ~5 minutes. Add paprika and red pepper flakes while shrimp is cooking.

-Add white wine and lemon juice.  Cook down for ~2 minutes.

Turned out great fabulous!  This is one of my favorite dishes.  I served it with roasted zucchini.  Did I mention this meal took less than twenty minutes to cook?  I’m all about healthy, delicious, and time efficient cooking!

Do you ever cook with white wine?

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend :)

That recipe sounds fabulous! And I most definitely cook with wine, red or white.. Red is great in stews, and I like white for shrimp, sauteeing mushrooms. Mmm. Happy Friday!

    droool that sounds delish!

  5. I don’t ever use white wine when I cook, but I should. I am way too basic. I use balsamic vin., olive oil, water, and sometimes raspberry vinegaraitte, or soy sauce. I should try white wine, whne I get more room in my kitchen for numerous bottles, i will! Can’t wait.
