A Great Weekend

Hope everyone is enjoying the final hours of this weekend!  My weekend was filled with friends, fun, and football… Nicole- my college roommate who now lives in NYC- was in town.

Friday, we went to a local New Orleans bar for a private party for a friend’s birthday party.  Unlike other major cities, New Orleans bars have not yet banned smoking inside bars… even though more than 400,000 Americans die of tobacco related illness each year.  And (I apologize for my rant), who wants to reek of smoke after a night out with friends?  Despite the tobacco clouds above our heads, we had a great time…

Saturday, I took my sister Kiley grocery shopping to Whole Foods to help her plan out some meals for the week.  Her dinner plans for the week include…

  •  Sunday- Slow Cooked Roast with Sweet Potato Fries
  • Monday- Grilled Chicken with Whole Wheat Macaroni & Cheese and Sugar Snap Peas
  • Tuesday- Tacos with Grilled Zucchini and Squash
  • Wednesday- Naan Pizzas with Sautéed Spinach
  • Thursday- Baked Pork Chops with White Beans and Roasted Asparagus
  • Friday- Balsamic Chicken served over Whole Wheat Pasta

After the grocery, my girlfriends gathered for our friend Christi’s Bridal Shower/Cocktail Party…

We had a blast visiting and catching up!

Today, we watched our Saints claim yet another victory… 9 and 0! The weekend fun is not yet over for me… Cory and I are meeting some friends to have dinner before Nicole leaves back for New York tomorrow morning.

Do you plan out the week’s meals over the weekend?  What are some dinners you are planning this week?

  1. Sounds like you had a great weekend!

Yes, I plan weekday meals (Tuesday – Friday as we usually have leftovers on Monday). We’ll be having salmon cakes, curry, and, carrot/ginger soup.

    Have a great week! :)

Fun time! I loved the meal plan you created. It sounds tasty. I find if I don’t plan I end up with salads lunch and dinner all week. It gets old. Planning pays :)
