My Sunday morning was spent walking in Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure (5K) with my family…

We arrived bright and early at New Orlean’s City Park. It was a beautiful day with a huge turn out…

I heard the announcer say that 10,000 people were in attendance for the race… And there was pink everywhere!!!

Even the tops to water jugs were pink!
This race was very important to my family because after a long, hard battle we lost my grandmother to breast cancer. We wore her name on a pink ribbon in loving memory…

We ended up picking up our pace about half way through the race and getting a good work out. Exercise feels even better when it’s for a good cause. It was my first year participating in Race for the Cure and I loved it. I could not think of a better way to spend an October Sunday morning… October is my favorite month. And to top off my Sunday I finally bought an iPhone!!! I feel so connected
