Healthy Snack Ideas
Posted on October 20th, 2009, by Kasey
I cannot get through the day without several snacks! I usually have such a wide variety of snacks at my desk that my coworkers joke that I’m running a Mini Mart. Example…

The above example is of a typical Kasey mid-morning snack (almonds, larabar, fruit).
Here are some other healthy snack ideas…
- Half a peanut butter sandwich on whole-wheat bread
- Whole-grain crackers (such as Triscuits) or whole-wheat tortilla with hummus, nut butter, or low-fat cheese
- Handful of unsalted or lightly salted cashews, walnuts, or pumpkin seeds
- Single-serving light string cheese with a piece of fruit
- Raw veggies with low-fat dip
- Small bowl of whole-grain cereal with skim milk or low-fat yogurt
- Lean meat with whole-grain crackers
- Low-fat or fat-free cottage cheese mixed with fruit (peaches are my favorite)
- Low-sugar, whole-grain granola bar with at least 3 grams of fiber (Kashi is a good option)
- Apple, banana, carrots, or celery with a scoop of nut butter
- Individual unsweetened applesauce with a few dry-roasted walnuts
- High-fiber cereal with a few nuts or seeds and dried fruit (do it yourself trail mix!)
What are some of your favorite healthy snacks?
